That looks *exactly* like my pasta dryer (for drying hoome-made pasta dough). Exactly. Therefore methinks... ;)
Hi Amber all the bits in the cross with holes in need to be facing upwards, with the pegs in then you put the skein around it,I've never seen a pasta dryer, it just looks like both the wooden cross bars need to be turned around so all the holes face up!
I am sure Jo has it right although it could be multi functioal ;)

That looks exactly like the candle-dryer my delightful hippie neighbor had back in the 70s.
She made handmade soaps and hand-dipped candles, which she sold in shops. She made the candles two at a time and hung them on just such a rack between dippings.
