I love springtime. Everything becomes sunny and colourful and warm again. I love watching for the different flowers to pop through the ground, birds coming back and the blossoming of the fruit trees. It gives me such a sense of renewal, especially breathing in the scent of growing things again.

I'm looking forward to Spring because I'm sick and tired of this wet warm snowless Winter that is not a real Winter at all! And my horoscope says that I should expect some big money towards the middle part of this year! *^v^* And my life has been so nice and interesting for the first three weeks of January that I'm really curious what fun things it will bring me in Spring! ^^
Hugs for you and Mr. Mog!

I am looking forward to spring because my little brother and his gf will be the first family member(s) to come visit me in the UK since I moved here (in Oct.).

I love the coming of Spring watching nature wake up with buds appearing here and there bringing colour gradually back with it replacing this dull gloomy winter. And then that wonderful fresh green of new leaves that seems to light up the trees when the sun shines - pure magic! Having seen one of your Elementals in the flesh now (Artis-Annes/Mums!) I can appreciate the value of your prize - such wonderful work! Thinking of you both with all your treking and this awful weather!

I'm looking forward to spring - when I can walk outside without by breath freezing and get in some more ambulatory exercise. That and being able to wake up after the sun.

Why an I looking forward to spring? Hmm Let me see. Well I'm not really looking forward to spring perse. I like winter so I'll just say I'm looking forward to morning so I can get back to practicing with my chanter in prep for learning the bagpipes

I'm tired of days where the high doesn't break 0F!! I want to see green growing things. I want to get back on my bicycle.

Chaos and Mayhem say "howdy" to Mr Mogs.

Ah, well then. I am out of the contest because I am still savoring winter. Here in Louisiana our cold weather season is far too brief.

Spring is wonderful, and I love it for the surge of life -- birds courting and building nests, flowers blooming, cool nights and fresh, crisp days. But my enthusiasm for spring is tempered by the certainty that it will be far too short, and too quickly followed by our long and wicked summer.

I am longing for the return of the light. It is so difficult getting out of bed when it is dark in the mornings and so easy when the sun is shining. The days seem so short, the light has gone before I have done half the things I want to.
May the sun shine on you and Mr Mog.

Winter and spring are very different now that I've moved from one of the coldest parts of the country (Vermont) to one of the hottest (Arizona). Usually I look forward to the transition outside - the melting of snow, the emergence of spring blossoms, the greening and cheering up of the landscape. This year, I guess it's more of an inner transformation that I look forward to, as I watch my first spring in this new place and figure out how I make sense (and what I can grow) here.

I'm looking forward to driving my truck with the top off. Shaun is an old Land Rover ('63-'71 Frankentruck) and has big metal flaps for "air conditioning." I'll be able to take the whole back off, and even fold the windscreen down if I want. Weeee! Then... camping offroad without frozen toes. *big grin*

monica said...

Well, I don't know if I qualify, because Winter is my favorite season. I love the cold, biting wind, the empty gray sky, and the bare trees. I really don't enjoy Spring very much.

I am looking forward to Spring...as I love to see the leaves grow in the trees, the sun warm the Earth and people are getting more friendly. With all the rain we have, people tend to get cranky. LOL! And maybe we are lucky to have some snow in Spring :-))

How can anyone not love spring. The flowers, trees, rebirth. Everything is just dead now - yeesh I really need spring to come soon!

Springtime. When the roses start to grow again, and the jacaranda trees are a mass of purple blossoms. And the air is scented with jasmine.

I'm looking forward to spring so that my kids can go and play outside again, and I can send them out to the back yard to play and not have them come in freezing just a few minutes later. And we'll be able to go to the park again, and have outdoor playdates. (On the other hand, I'm not looking forward to spring because I've got so many pollen allergies that I end up sniffling through the entire season!)

I'm looking forward to spring because I miss football and ultimate frisbee. A few friends and I tried to play, but it was cold and muddy. Fun, still, but cold. I want to wear t-shirts and not constantly be huddled under several layers of clothes and blankets.

I am looking forward to spring because that is when my roses start blooming. Once the weather warms up I will be able to let the kids loose at the playground and knit up a storm.

This week felt like spring already in our part of the world and I loved being able to eat outside in the sun and listen to the birds singing ! I also LOVE to feel that warming air while walking the girls to school. Simple pleasures but I can't get enough of that every year !

Spring for me = colours! That lovely fresh green of the shoots coming up, daffodil yellow, fresh and bright, and the light outside brightens up too. This also makes me feel like I can move away from warm knits to making lace and lighter things.

Finally got internet back and am able to 'talk' again!
Hope Mr Mog is doing OK and the sock knitting is still on track!
I am looking forward to Spring because to me it is the time of new beginings, where once again we emerge from the darkness of Winter into the light and hope of Spring.
Take care x

Not having to wear a jacket! And having a good excuse to paint my toenails, shave my legs and wear flip-flops. :-)

As a NYC girl, I love springtime...at the first rays of strong sunshine, the first hint of warmth, New Yorkers go over the top: we fling open our coats, smile at each other on the streets (well at least we make eye contact), and settle on the nearest park bench to knit (ask me how I know).

Love your elementals, by the way; they are very special.

Spring? Oh, yeah, I remember spring. (It's -4F here today). Fresh air, sunshine, some Vitamin D. I'm looking forward to the baby ducks at our lake and some outdoor college baseball. Throwing open the windows and best of all, my five-year-old taking to the bike path with her new hot pink two-wheeler with the tassels on the handles.

Mmmm, spring....early flowers like crocus and grape hyacinth, skin that isn't dry, trees budding out, better weather to walk the dog, and my bonsai trees come out of winter storage!

I think spring is my favorite season. Every day it's about renewal and life. I love looking out in my yard and seeing new plants peeking up. Sometimes it seems like they grow overnight.
There's also nothing like the seattle flower show to give you a SERIOUS case of spring fever.

Natalie said...

The smell of rain. My feet in wet grass. The laughter my children make outdoors. Rainbows.

I'm looking forward to spring because I just want to be able to run to the store without having to pile on a heavy coat, scarf, gloves, hat, boots, etc. just to leave the house.

I enjoy photographing the beautiful world around me, which can be difficult at times with Winter in Iowa, everything is white or brown or blue and that's about it. When spring comes it feels like the world is waking up after a long slumber and it warms the soul to see those little sprouts push forth from the chilly soil. Spring means warmth, light, color, and a bit of freedom from the being cooped up in the house for so long. This year the minions are a little bit older and I am looking forward to photographing and documenting their many new outdoor discoveries. Hope your feeling well Mr Mog!

Having been thrust into the role of Crone rather abruptly at the end of October I find that after this cold dark winter I am truly looking forward to the return of the Maiden in a whole new way. My perspective is so changed now that I can hardly wait to savor all of the changes that Spring will bring.
Blessed Be.

Spring is when all the homebuyers come out of their hidey holes and think about buying a new home. I Am a Realtor, so this is important to me! Unfortch, it also means I have less time for knitting...

ah spring! Waking to the sun shining thru my bedroom window, a hot cup of tea in the morning sun, knitting outside, seeing how last fall's plantings of daffodils and crocus fared - I can't wait :)

Although I do love winter, I'm looking forward to spring because of the baby rabbits that throng around the house. We feed the wild rabbits all year round, but they get very chummy in winter... and our reward is to see the children!

Spring (and daylights savings time) is when I can quit driving my pickup to work (18 mpg) and start riding my Vespa to work (75 mpg) Not only that but the Vespa is soooo much funner than the truck!

I look forward to not having to wear a coat and hat and scarf and mitts. I look forward to not having to scrape the ice of the car in the morning, or shovel out the snowplow pile at the end of the driveway. And I most certainly want to sit out on my lounger under the trees and enjoy the sunlight while working on my latest project or just read a book in the warm-ish sun of spring. and the smells, how could I forget the smells? The smell of the first grass cutting of the year!

I cannot wait until the Spring weather warms things up enough to open the windows and let the fresh clean air in the house. I am ready to let the staleness out and the fresh and new in.

Nice to find your blog, looks like you are a very ambitious sock knitter!

I am looking forward to the abundance of COLOUR - flowers and new shoots - and light to see it all by.

I do in fact look forward to the start of every season because I love the complete rhythm of spring following winter, summer following spring agelessly around and around the wheel of the year. But I suppose spring is extra special as the light returns and illuminates the hope and the promise of the whole.

We have pretty good weather here (not too bad) but I adore the first day that it is warm and sunny of the year. It's almost magical to me. That, and my birthday is just after the start of spring, so it's my favorite holiday!

I adore fall and winter but after having lived in hawaii for 12+ years i am ready for spring to come! I love spring to be able to see all the bulbs pushing out of the ground, hear the birds in the morning, start planting seeds for the garden, start shedding the layers of clothing, open the windows to freshen up the house,go on hikes to higher elevations with no fear of avalanches, start cooking lighter meals and lastly (but by no means least as this list could go on further) have a day or two to take the top off of the jeep and drive! Enjoy your dreams of spring!

It is a very long and cold winter here. I can hardly wait for spring when the many many many many bulbs (over 200) buried in my front garden, tulips, daffodils, and snowdrops will come to life again and the garden will be filled with colour. Love your hats.

I love spring - it's so beautiful here. Light, colorful, growth. Or maybe it's just that I hate winter (dark, grim, death). Hmmm.

I look forward to spring because the liquid sunshine (aka rain) slows down enough so that I can get out into my garden and muck about. I love seeing the first tulips and daffodils breaking through the soil. The birdies all come back to entertain my cats (through the window). And the cherry blossoms are to die for! It's like spring snow on the trees but without the shovelling.

the light! The light! I can't wait till it stays light till 9:00 again and I can go for a long walk in the warm evening with my dog and see all the yards blooming with flowers. Or bike riding, oh How I miss bike riding.....hurry up Spring!!!!!

I'm looking forward to spring because I live in deep snow country. Once the weather starts getting warmer, I'll be able to ride my bike again on my marathon twenty-mile trips. Walking everywhere just isn't as fun. Especially through 4 inches of slush.

Hello Amber, I'm looking forward to Spring because I suffer from the cold so Winter can be the toughest month for me trying to keep warm, but Spring is just around the corner...I can feel it in my bones!

I'm looking forward to spring because it will signal the start of huge changes for my DH and I. And my adventurous parents will be visiting from Australia too after first touring around Italy - and they're in their late 70's. Life is so exciting!

I am looking forward to spring because it means I finally start to feel happy again. Living in New England takes a toll on my mood, and by January I am a very grumpy, sad person. Looking forward to the spring is what keeps my going!

Oh, and crocuses. I think those little crocuses popping their heads out of the snow are my second favorite thing to look forward to.

I'm looking forward to spring because it's too flippin' cold these days :)

Although I love winter, we have not had any snow to speak of. And the snow is why I like winter. So, since I can't have any of the white stuff to play in I am ready for some beautiful colors of Spring.

I'm looking forward to the light. This year we haven't even had much cold, harsh wintery light it has just been grey, grey, grey. So, I love the lighter evenings and the warm hue of the spring light. I am also looking forward to being able to see where the sea ends and the sky begins when I take my dogs for a walk along the cliff top of Brixham (Devon) where I live.
