Today I decided to play in one of my colour journals and as I have been watching the geese flying over this last couple of days I thought I would use that as my starting point. Not sure if you can read it? I painted (splashed colour) first then the words came. I've scanned it in but to be honest it is a little pale. Used my Lamy Safari with Pilot Namiki Iroshizuku (Old Man Winter )Ink . I thought it went perfectly with the day. I didn't necessarily want the text to be too bold, just a faint echo on the page
The musings and meanderings of a mixed media artist and yarn junkie who loves to knit, spin, crochet, make a mess, write and enjoy life. I try to follow the wheel of the year and enjoy each day of it. My art reflects that spiritual journey.

new year
A happy new year to you all. Its been a quiet Yule and past few weeks, I seem to have hibernated more than normal. How about you?

That is the exact shade of blue that I have painted across the weekends on my calendar!
I have washed a weaker shade of the same blue across Thursdays and Fridays, so that I can know what day of the week it is, and whether Mr BW is at home or at work on which days - this year's calendar is set out differently to previous years'. and it's the only way I know which day of the week it is!!!
