A selection of art dolls that need a new home, a couple made by me the others by various artists from across the world.
Offers invited for all or singly
The musings and meanderings of a mixed media artist and yarn junkie who loves to knit, spin, crochet, make a mess, write and enjoy life. I try to follow the wheel of the year and enjoy each day of it. My art reflects that spiritual journey.

Colours and trips out
There has been knitting and I haven't shown you, sorry. This is Wavebird in Colinette Jitterbug. The colour is Morello Mash
My first shawl of this design with long arms and a shorter body.
I loved knitting it despite a mix up on one of the pattern rows. The designer was very prompt in replying to me and sorting it out.
The next shawl is another Pamuya, I think my favourite pattern. It is made with Zauberball sock yarn in Indisch Rose, a gift from Mr Mog for Yule.
I wasn't sure if the pattern and the yarn worked together but once it came off the needles and was blocked it looked much better.
Very warm and very light to wear. This took around 125 gms of the Zauberball so very economical. Have a good ball and a half left and I'll be swapping with a friend of mine for another colour.
We found a great shop while there, it was hidden up a side street. Alan Lloyd
A treasure trove of pens, inkwells and much more and a very knowledgeable man running it who was passionate about his subject. There are display cases in the passageway filled with antique pens, and all the accompanying paraphernalia. Mr Mog loves calligraphy and found much of interest. As did I to be honest. I love writing with a "proper" pen and have a couple of fountain pens that get much use.
If ever you are in Kendal then I recommend Williams Wools, where I got the Zauberball and Alan Lloyd if you are a fan of writing instruments.

I liked the yarn so much that Mr Mog persuaded me to buy some more while in Kendal today.

Imbolc Blessings and 5th annual Cyberslam poetry for Brighid event
It is officially Imbolc.
Imbolc first milk and dedicated to Brighid.
A time of hope of brighter days to come.
After the hard January that so many of us have had there is a whisper of Spring on the breeze
Lots of bulbs pushing their way up despite the snow and harsh weather. They know, they too have felt the promise.
Can you feel the change? The magic of the turn of the wheel?
The signs that say move on, leave the dark inward days, open up to new experiences and new beginnings.
The time of introspection is behind us, now we feel the urge to be outside and to start things growing. New seeds, new plants.
Some of these pictures were taken at Chester Zoo last weekend when we visited and they too have new growth for Spring, new elephant baby who was so sweet but oh so shy and stayed close to mum.
Because it is Imbolc it is the time of the 5th Annual Cyberspace Poetry slam for Brigid. I love this time of year, so much fabulous poetry to be seen on the web, so many people joining in. Will you?
My next post will have my contribution. If you follow the link or google 5th Annual Cyberspace poetry slam for Brigid you will see many many more.
How do I know?
I saw my first snowdrops today and I've already seen lambs, so that proves it thenImbolc first milk and dedicated to Brighid.

The 5th Annual Cyberspace Poetry Slam for Brigid
This is the 5th year of what started out as a silent poetry reading for Imbolc and the Lady Brigid. I think I've taken part in every one.
Here are my selections for this year.
After you have read them do google for many many more.
First offering is from the brilliant Brian Patten and is called Mary had a bit of lamb
Here are my selections for this year.
After you have read them do google for many many more.
First offering is from the brilliant Brian Patten and is called Mary had a bit of lamb
Mary had a little lamb.
Its fleece was white as snow.
And everywhere that Mary went
the lamb was sure to go.
She went into the butchers
came out with some lamb chops
I would never follow Mary
into any kind of shops.
Second one is from the book Earthkind , words and pictures by Brian Boothby and Glennie Kindred
It is called Cat's way
Maybe there is something
in the cat's way after all:
No trying to please, no failure,
no strewn and smattered souls.
Just instinct,
at the right time of year.
